Bloomsburg Sweeps in Softball

BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University softball team swept two games from Belmont Abbey College on Thursday winning 1-0 and 7-1.

In game one, Tara Reed (Willamsport/ Williamsport)went the distance and struck out eight to get the win. Bloomsburg scored the game's only run in the third inning when pinch-runner Jen Miller (Muir/ Williams Valley)scored on an RBI hit by Stacey Krupiewski.

In game two, Ashley Lynn (Riverside/ Danville) earned the win pitching and helped her own cause with a two-run homer in the first inning. In addition, Reed was 2-4 with two runs scored, while Miller went 2-4 with an RBI.

The Huskies games on Friday with Columbia Union and on Saturday against Goldey-Beacom have been postponed due to the expected bad weather.
